Baker Wins 2009 Grappling Championship

Dustin Baker (center), the 2006 Golden Gloves boxing champion from Watertown, won the 2009 New York State Grappling Championship on April 18 in Fredonia. This was only the second grappling tournament he competed in. In his first tournament, the NAGA World Championships on April 4 in Newark, NJ, he won his first two matches, and dropped his 3rd by points. Dustin has been working out at the Northern New York Judo & Jui Jitsu Club in the Empsall's Plaza for 3-4 months, and just started training for Jiu Jitsu & MMA with pro MMA fighter & Jui Jitsu black belt Jordan Damon.
